Program Synopsis
The EU General Data Protection Regulations, or GDPR, has been in full force since May 2018 and places legal obligations on organizations that collect, handle, process and share personal data. It applies to all organizations, not only those based in the EU but also those organizations based outside the EU that offer goods/services to people in the EU. The fact that Asia Pacific has been EU’s third largest trading partner outside Europe, underlines the importance of the GDPR to all organizations within the region.
This workshop helps organizations identify the need to comply with GDPR, why they need to comply, and what they need to do to comply. It provides a comprehensive view of the GDPR and to aid knowledge transfer and the practicalities of the GDPR there are Q&As and group exercises. The workshop also has a focus on the pragmatics of what organizations need to do in order to comply with the GDPR and their legal obligations.
